I find it just a bit worrisome that there is only one other truck here besides me. And absolutely no trailers. At a Schneider drop lot. Almost couldn't get in either :P Code was right, but I was either punching it in wrong, or I wasn't waiting long enough to let the keypad reset itself. Either way I'm in now, and going to be here until, oh, probably 8:00 tomorrow morning? Maybe later. Pickup in town, but it's at 10:00. And it sounds fun! </sarcasm> Apparently as part of the directions I'm supposed to go to a parking area, and call the company to see where I'm supposed to go. It would seem that the loading docks are in a cave of sorts. This baffles me! And then I trek 370 miles to my delivery point, which has an appointment 24 hours after my pickup appointment. Going to be heavy too! Supposedly. Ought to be interesting at any rate. Either way, I have way too much free time on my hands now!

| 98% sure it's Korn song |

This is such a small thing, but it's driving me mad. I was listening to the radio and I'm pretty sure this is a Korn song and he sings the line 'Everyone screams kill the -'. I don't remember the end of that line and it's killing me. Google just comes up with 'Falling away from me' and I'm listening to that right now, so I know that's not right. If some Korn fan could get finish that line, I would be so happy.

I have progress on that dragon picture. I would call it finished, but I'm having so much trouble with the color difference between my monitor and the one I have at school, that I fear there is still much to do (aka, add details in dark areas, add more contrast, etc.). If you see this as almost completely black, then you are NOT seeing the correct colors ;_; (for the record, I see it as almost black on my pc)

I know quite a few folks here have suggested to calibrate my monitor (and so has my teacher) but I haven't had time to do so yet. Sight, today was our last day of Painter class, too ;_;
By the way this may be the last "free" picture from me you'll see in a month or so. I need to seriously start working for the various final exams I'll be having in June (I have about 30 illustrations to make, I'll probably post them here when I'm done though).

I have no words for this, so I'll let the description do it.

I'm looking for a website, that, was, at least, fairly popular. It parodied movies by using 'hand puppet' pictures. All I can remember is that it was by Jeremy the Frog Productions, but Google can find anything on it.

Hmm. Mom's in the hospital. Seems to be appendix related. Unsure if that's the cause though. Hope it's not serious though. Kilroy!

| Tapestry and Needlepoint shop, French Quarter, New Orleans. |

In 2002 we went to New Orleans, and on our wanders around the French Quarter we found a shop that sold tapestry kits and canvasses.
But I have never seen canvasses like these before. They were paintings of dogs and cats in Renaissance and Jacobean and Elizabethan costumes, and the tapestry canvasses were about the size of a portrait. Imagine, if you would, this portrait, but instead of the lady in those clothes, a Burmese cat.
If you know of the maker of the canvasses, that would be super. I fear the shop may be long gone.

| New York |
[15 May 2008|10:26am] |
The most important thing I learned on my trip to New York, is not to drink tequila and beer at the same time.
I also discovered that vomiting into a toilet is not nearly as unpleasant as I expected, so cheers to that.
New York is a really amazing place. There are all these things that I never thought were real--like they were myths, or perfections only found in movies--but they actually exist in New York! Taxis everywhere, and everyone who drives is insane. Order a giant sandwich that's filled only with meat. Impossibly elegant homes and museums; the focal of the world's opulence. Everything can be bought in chocolate form. But the apartments surprised me the most. I genuinely did not think those brown-brick apartment buildings were real. And then I went to New York, and they're everywhere! And I got to go inside some, and it's just like what it's like in those famous movies.
That's what New York is like: like being in a famous movie, all the time.
And there's always things going on. Just walking through the city, I came upon a jazz band, people filming a movie, and a Buddhist festival/parade, all at one park!
It's like the whole city is this giant party. And even if you're not partying, you're still partying, just from the proximity to the parties that are happening.
And now I'm back in Toronto. And, wow, does it seem different. Slower paced. Certainly a lot cleaner; less graffiti everywhere. I've found myself jay walking a lot: no one in New York waits for anything if it's at all possible, so it seems really weird to stand at a crosswalk and wait for the light.
. . .But I still don't know how they handle having all green money. I could never keep my wallet organized.

| name of a cat-souvernir-store |
[15 May 2008|04:14pm] |
this is going to be a long shot, but i might as well try it ..
last fall my parents went to madeira (portuguese island) and brought me back a bunch of cute cat-related souvenirs. they came from a store with a cat-logo and pretty much everything they sold was something with cats.
my mum also gave me one of those business cards with a list of every store of that branch in the world, but i lost the card. a lot of those stores were located in spain. i am certain that there was a store mentioned in valencia (spain). i'm fairly sure the name of the store was spanish, but it might have been portuguese. it was not a one-word name (though i don't remember how many words it was) and i don't think the word 'gato' (spanish for 'cat') was in the name.
i'm asking because i'm looking for the name of the store and possibly a store locator for the adress in valencia (spain).

Also, I am sad! I left my flavored whipped cream cheeses at home! Now how am I supposed to enjoy the 11 bagels I have during the week? Plain? That's just barbaric! :P
Friday I have to stop at a Wal-Mart if I can.
I also wonder if Philadelphia brand cream cheese is made in Philadelphia... :P

Hmm. Not too sure now. It may be charging the battery, but at a rather insignificant rate when I'm using a lot of voltage. I'll have to do further testing to be sure. Also, apologies for not being online last night, I had too much to do while testing my theory, and I have a poor net connection here. May not be online tonight either; another idea I have about this requires me to sleep as soon as I shut down. And then waking up 4 hours later to check the status of the batteries. But at the very least I'll be having my idle time cut down, if I do have to idle.

I think I dreamt I was on vacation somewhere. Then I woke up, realised it was only thursday and not friday yet, fell back asleep, and dreamt I was vacationing between two <select> fields in an HTML form. I think I was using them like a hammock. :P
Nothing new to report, I feel a little less like crap than I did yesterday. I'm still wondering how much of this is stress and how much of it is stomach problems, and how much of my stress is being caused by stomach problems, or how many of my stomach problems are being caused by stress. Either way a weekend would be nice. XD Nothing new, but hey, livejournals are for bitching sometimes, right?
