Completely unrelated-to-anything music trivia
When [Tormented, Staind's debut album] was released, friend and confidant Fred Durst reportedly burst into their dressing room before a show during their tour with Limp Bizkit, threw the album on the floor, and started screaming at them, offended by the cover art. Reportedly very religious at the time, he asked if they were a Satanic band.[citation needed]

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has serious trouble envisioning Fred Durst as "very religious."

I would think I'd find more religion in an expired can of Spam.

I'm sure he was just upset that Limp Bizkit still wasn't Korn yet.

Nah, Korn is more "MY LIFE WAS SERIOUSLY HARD YOU GUYS, MAYBE IF I SCREAM LOUD ENOUGH SOMEONE WILL FINALLY LOVE ME AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH" and Limp Bizkit is more "DON'T MESS WITH ME FUCKER, I'LL FUCK YOU UP WHILE SAYING "FUCK" A LOT" like if an Internet Tough Guy somehow landed a recording career.

(Disclaimer for the sake of fairness: Alone I Break and Re-Arranged are actually fairly decent guilty pleasure songs--the kind that I could actually get into even if it's highly embarrassing to actually admit that to anyone else--even if their videos are absolutely ridiculous and completely prove everything I just said in the previous paragraph.

Edit: And Re-Arranged's video has some rather unfortunate Bukkake connotations near the end, which I'm sure is exactly what everyone wanted to think of when thinking of Limp Bizkit.

Alone I Break is a good song, and I remember really liking a few of the singles from Issues (though I kind of lost track of them after that.) You're allowed to play to a total stereotype and have absolutely ridiculous music videos if the songs are still catchy. After all, I listen to a genre that's all about +5 Elven Shortswords and the mystic prophecy of the ancient dragon demon wizard king, and has even more ridiculous music videos.

You did it again, I hope you realize. :(

And I saw that video once years ago and half-thought I'd dreamt it. I hadn't made the particular connection that you mentioned, but there are multiple branching reasons why that video is all sorts of not good for me.
